Educator, writer, artist, painter, photography, installation artist, sculptor and video artist. Her education in the arts began in La Liga de Arte de San Juan, in 1999 she obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts at La Escuela de Artes Plásticas de Puerto Rico with a concentration in Art Education and has a Master of Fine Arts in New Media from Donau-Universität Krems in association with Transart Institute (Austria / Berlin / New York). From 2000 to 2007 her career as a writer and blogger at Trance Líquido and other magazines, opened new opportunities of important debates and forums like: “Encuentros: blog culturales en el MAP”.
As a journalist and along the Puerto Rican artist Daniel Arnaldo-Roman, she had interviewed and conducted reviews to important figures of the mainstream media from Puerto Rico and overseas, including: Robi Draco Rosa, Luis Raul, LU, ARDNAXELA, Nek, Alex Ubago, Eduardo Cruz, among others.
From 2000 to 2005 opened to important debates and conservatories as “Encounters: Cultural blog MAP”. In her work she uses all kinds of materials and means to achieve a dialogue with her conceptual investigation. Her work reflects how the questioning of female prototypes and consumption have created particular beauty rituals of excessive and incomprehensible nature. She currently works as a Program Coordinator of the Extension Program at Escuela de Artes Plásticas y Diseño de Puerto Rico.
Lilliam has been awarded with the Artist Resident of Enrique “Lopito” Lopéz Fund 2011, semi-finalist in Certamen Arte Joven 2008 of Oriental Group and ARCO 2001 by Amigos de las Artes Plásticas, Escuela de Artes Plásticas de Puerto Rico. She was awarded an Achievement Scholarship 2008 by Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña, Puerto Rico and Transart Institute ’08, ’09.
