ProfileLilliam Nieves is a Puerto Rican new media artist, experienced on many fields like art teacher, journalist, advertising coordinator and blogger. Together with Daniel Arnaldo Roman she manages two projects: Grupo Probeta where she conceptualize and give marketing life to products and clients ideas and editor and publishing at Trance Liquido. Graduated from Escuela de Artes Plasticas de Puerto Rico where she earn a BFA degree in Art Education. In 2011 she ended her MFA in New Media in Transart Institute in association with Donau-Universität Krems, Austria. She was just recently appointed Extension Program Director at Escuela de Artes Plásticas.
As a journalist she had interviewed and conducted reviews to important figures of the mainstream media from Puerto Rico and overseas, including: Robi Draco Rosa, Luis Raul, LU, ARDNAXELA, Nek, Alex Ubago, Eduardo Cruz, among others.
Lilliam has been awarded with the Artist Resident of Enrique “Lopito” Lopéz Fund 2011, semi-finalist in Certamen Arte Joven 2008 of Oriental Group and ARCO 2001 by Amigos de las Artes Plásticas, Escuela de Artes Plásticas de Puerto Rico. She was awarded an Achievement Scholarship 2008 by Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña, Puerto Rico and Transart Institute ’08, ’09.
She lives and works in Puerto Rico.
