Reading Diary: Group Effort

At this point in history, i believe, there was a radical change for the working-class; accustomed to manual labor they now have to deal with the novelty of computers. The interaction of the electronic apparatus specially computerized labor have change the life of these workers on personal and professional level, making up another kind of professional.

These new breed of labor resources practically forced the manual-worker to educate himself to better operate the new industrial machinery. Since the Boomer generation up until these days we are fighting to understand and operate the electronic gadgets that although it may beneficial to some areas it may create instability and frustration. You have to learn not only to use these artifacts but how to implement them on your daily life. This entails a personal competence between the workers because some are accustomished to modernization and others are reluctant to this new experience, for their academic preparation and experience on the labor-space depends their salary and benefits; even with this we may be able to find people with honors and education working in areas that have anything to do with the profession, but we can also see people with autodidactic skills, taking the jobs as their own.

Many are the psychological problems that machine related works bring into play, in part because when the production is capitalized many are the areas that does not rely on human interaction to work properly and this may have the consequence of depression and other problems inherent to an aggressive labor environment. Because of this we may see a proliferation of other fields on the labor-value equation, new professions begins to emerge as consequence of this like; hearth professionals, consultants, seminarists, and workshops of auto-help and these are as of today acquiring capital.

Everything is a replacement of a replacement and up until today the replacement is invariably inevitable because of the accelerated dependance to the machine. This has become our modus vivendi and nowadays is what makes us function in a productive society. The trained, educated or self-taught worker will work, earn a salary, collects its money, deposits it, manages it to its desirability or spent it on commodities, clothes houses and food. This same money is the one that will come back to sustain the economy of the country, taxes, more products, more control and more equipment and prime material that goes back to the labor-workshop. It is a vicious cycle that never ends, one that generate an endless string of salary and expenses that contribute to the economy itself.

Definitely, for every penny expended more and more capital is invested turning this society into a labor-freak mania.

The worker is important, but without the machine the worker may be nothing and viceversa. They are a perfect marriage. The worker have to learn to work with the machine and the machine most of the time have to be manufactured to work with a human. Both are therefore indispensable one another to bring their daily activities and continue farming. In any work field machines are now an important part of the production and as it is an extension of the worker, and the worker is an extension of the machine. The work field, the production and the whole economy is changing rapidly and so fast that it is making an unprecedented evolution. The worker imitates the machine and the technician makes the machine imitate the worker. The man is already a USB that connects automatically with the machine as a gadget that need a command to run its function.

All human beings are born with some specific characteristics both physical and genetic, we grow with some attitudes, customs, virtues and skills that go hand in hand with the acquired learning. This is what defines us as humans who interact in the workplace and give food to social life within the society that surrounds you.

In the complex environment where we reside there are many fields that depends one on the other. For example in a factory; you evaluate yourself so the supervisor evaluate what you are doing and the supervisor supervise the supervisor up until the foundations of the factory and from thar depends the functionality of the system were you are laboring. I think the genius of the process of being a human and interact with our environment is how we resolve our mistakes, problems and complications in all aspects. It is making every day a better role in the world, this sounds like Paulo Coelho, but the spectacle continues …
The way to move, organize and discuss the ideas and how you project yourself would be the perfect formula for a perfect society. But unfortunately, is not so …

The way to move, organize and discuss the ideas and how you project yourself would be the perfect formula for a perfect society. But unfortunately, is not so … It would be absurdly boring. We live a fantasy of another fantasy, everything is forced like media do, it feed our most hidden desires. Hence the slogan: About taste, there’s nothing written. This makes so different and uneven the philosophical speeches, depends on who run the show, how is received and what action would be performed. For that reason, presentations, product, market and execution of propaganda are so evaluated, because the ultimate goal is to reach an expected success and rewarding profits from the capital investment.

Everything goes so fast, that we forget where we come from, where our roots are. We have also noticed that many people are afraid of the unespected. This creates an imbalance in production and entertainment, because most people prefer all chewed and digested, instead of exploring the circustances and take the time to learn from it.

The machines has invaded much of our space, the invention turns out to be a constant novelty and its discovery is a sudden alternative in our daily lives. For this reason, many believe that to be in front of a computer is wasting time and however we rely on its use to eat, get clothes and to live. They won’t spend too much time on the apparatus because they would think that it will consume them. I am always surprised when i find out that one of my friends do not know how to use a 10% of computers, cameras, copiers, cash registers, stoves, etc..

Sometimes we forget how to combine the use of these electronic devices with our cultural values, family or education. In fact, for me the best invention has been the TV and let me explain: Although many people opt to watch junk programs, it is also useful to see documentaries, worldly news, interior design, kitchen, educational programmes, etc … trying to put aside the ignorance of this premise: I do not know how to do it.

Nowadays the fields of television production has increased as well as the market for advertising agencies, creating a war within an imaginary crisis, who sells more competitive commodities and who want more. The sale has become something so absurd that it can leave us without words because of the absurd metaphors that are used to describe the products. Likewise customer service (growing profession, learning ways to treat the client) has increased and usually is accompanied with the urge to sell the the product, being sold or to be sold.

The sale is an entire movie, an imaginary story to establish the need for the purchase by using desired as a projection of the sale. We live in a culture of “I want,” I am immaterial, i belong to the intangible culture.
